class suggestion :sorcerer
i read this idea on one of the threads and thought it was interesting.
instead of it using fire water earth and lightning magic, Sorcerer will be using Dark and Light magic.
one unique ability of the sorcerer is the ability to cast souls. light souls and dark souls. souls casted on a person will stick to a person constantly until either it is killed or the time limit is up or until the target dies. souls canot be stacked and if a target has a light soul on it, a dark soul canot be casted one it, vice-versa. lightsouls canot be healed nor hexed or conditioned.
Attribute : Light Magic
this is a healing attribute. with sorcerers, parties no longer have to wait ages for a monk to appear. light sorcerers will be a subsitute healer just fine even though a monk is a better healing class. (no smiting skills)
Skill: Light Soul
Light Soul sticks closely to target ally, healing it for 20-60 health every 5 seconds for 35 seconds.
Skill: Glowing Soul
Glowing Soul sticks closely to you, giving you 3 energy every 12-8 seconds. for 48 seconds.
Elite Skill: Holy Soul
Holy Soul sticks closely to target ally, healing it for 25-65 health every 5 seconds for 35 seconds and removes one condition every time it heals.
Skill: Healing Light
Healing Light heals target ally for 10%-22% of his max health.
Attribute : Dark Magic
this is a damagin attribute.
Skill: Dark Soul
Dark Soul sticks closely to target foe, damaging it for 20-60 health every 5 seconds for 35 seconds.
Skill: Hungry Soul
Hungry Soul sticks closely to target foe, eating up 35-75 health every 5 seconds but gives the foe 3-1 energy every time.
Elite Skill: Doom Soul
Doom Soul sticks closely to target foe, damaging it for 10-50 health every 4 seconds for 36 seconds, causing bleeding every 4 seconds. each bleed lasts 4 seconds.
Skill: Dark Beam
Shoots a dark beam that does 40-70 damage to the foes hit. (shoots in a straight line)
o
\\=============))
/\
Primary Attribute: Soul Sorcery
For every point in Soul Sorcery, souls' life span increases by 1 second.
what do u guys think. this is just a rough idea of how it would work, might add more to it next time

Isn't it like Necromancer/Monk and/or vise versa?

I'd hate to see a party member get hit by a doom soul when the monk is low on mana.
It's an interesting idea anyway.
What other attributes would it have?

i dont see how is this like a necro but a monk, well probably.. but i think monks shld not be the only healing class. some other class shld contribute in healing too even though not as effective as a monk. well monks neednt be as highly sought after since they can get sorcerers as a subsitute. waiting ages for a monk? bah, get a sorcerer instead.

Interesting, needs to be expanded though.
Sorcerer should be able to summon Shadow Minions (no need of corpse, but costs more energy or other balance to keep in line with Necro).
Sorcerer could "possess" a Monster (like a charm monster spell, Bosses would be immune).

yea would be v interesting. but this wont be happening unless there are PVE-only skills (suggested on my other thread ) cos a skill like Possess Monster would be mundane in PVP

I like this idea too. It would be nice to include the ability to banish or fear a single creature as well...it would fit nicely in this class (assuming balancing issues would be addresed)

Good call on that, then all you have to do is give it some mundane purpose in pvp. Like adding armor.

well the "new" sort of skills is a good idea, but not enough for a new class sorry.

Soul Sorcery: Passively increases the ammount of souls that may be bonded to a single player. One soul at level 1 and above, Two souls at level 6 and above, and three souls at level 13 and above.
Also, make it so that when a light soul is cast on someone with 1-3 dark souls on them, all of those souls are erased and visa versa.
Just a suggestion. Souls would have to be relatively weak, like ritualist spirits. Also, the person the soul is bonded to shouldnt be able to attack thier own soul.
Would hexes and conditions work on the souls?

i was thinking about having multiple dark souls bonded to a single player.. and thought that would be overpowering.. but probably each player could be limited to one dark soul and one light soul on anytime.
and i think the idea of the person having soul bonded to being unable to attack his the soul is brilliant.
